Luke Mackey  scored twice and added two assists and teammate and Tyler Bennett scored two goals and added an assist as Celtics doubled Southern Shore Breakers 4-2 in the only Junior Hockey League game Sunday.  Shayne Kavanagh and Justin David replied for the Shore.

S A T U R D A Y 

Andrew Paul scored twice and the Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals double Trinity Placentia Flyers 4-2.

The Capitals were up 3-1 after the first and held a 3-2 advantage heading to the third. Ben Cleary and Adam Caines added singles. Patrick Churchill had both goals for the Flyers.

 

The St. John’s Caps scored three goals in the second period and beat the C-B-N Stars 6-3.

Joey Trenholm paced the winners with four goals and an assist. Jason Michaud had the other two goals for the Caps. Bradley Bugden scored a pair of markers for the Flyers and the other goal tallied by Zack Quinlan.

 

It went to overtime and Justin Boland netted the game winning goal as the C-B-R Renegades edged Mount Pearl Blades 3-2. Andrew Barron and Ryan Power scored in regulation time for the Renegades.

Brandon Kalbfreish and Michael Broaders shared the scoring for the Blades.

 

 

F R I D A Y 

 

Andrew “Dickie” Paul scored three goals and Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals bombed Southern Shore Breakers 12-1 in St. John’s junior hockey play Friday night.

Cody Barron added two goals with singles from  Matthew Caines, Brett Vokey, Ben Murphy, Cameron Dunn, Harry Noftle, Josh Crane and Zac Tucker.

Peter Kavanagh replied for the Shore.

Mount Pearl scored four goals in the third period and go on to a 7-1 thumping of Celtics in junior play at the Jack Byrne Arena.

Grant Thompson had three goals for the winners. Bradyn Brown, Liam Coombs, Brandon Kalbfleish and Michael Broders added  singles.

Tyler Bennett had the lone goal for the Celtics.

C-B-N Stars doubled C-B-R Renegades 4-2 in the third game played Friday night.

Bradley Budden, Ryan Petten, Jarrett Walters and Lucas Goobie scored for the Stars. Matt Porter and Trevor Forward replied for the Renegades.

The game was deadlocked at two after the opening period and the stars took a 3-2 lead after the second

C-B-R outshot C-B-N 43-36.
