Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Gonzaga Vikings have tied the best of seven St. John’s senior baseball final series at two games apiece .The Vikings defeated the Shamrocks 7-4 at St. Pat’s.
Veteran Matthew Peterson pitched the win giving up five hits allowing four walks and fanning two. Greg Barry started and takes the loss. He went four and one third innings allowing four runs on five hits. He walked two hit one batter and struck out three. Ryan Dooley pitched two thirds of an inning and gave up one run on two hits. Kirk Fleming finished the game with one inning pitched allowing two runs on two hits.
On the Vikings, Mike O’Neil was 2 for 3 with a double, 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, and a walk. Peter Madden was 2 for 4 with an RBI. For the Shamrocks, Sean Gulliver went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI thanks to a bases loaded double in the seventh inning. He also came around to score himself two batters later.
