Once again it will be a Corner Brook, St. John’s provincial senior baseball best of seven final series.

 

The Barons swept their best of five series three games to none over Gander with a 6-1 win in game three.

 

Brian Bennett tossed the win in Game threw. HE went the distance allowing one run on six hits walking two and fanning three.

 

Riley King takes the loss. He also went the distance allowing six runs on ten hits. He walked one and struck out eight.

The Corner Brook Barons are one win away from a rematch with St. John;s to decide the provincial senior baseball champions for 2018.

 

The Barons blasted Gander 13-3 Saturday afternoon to take a two games to none lead in the best of five B semi final.

 

Matt Colbourne goes the distance to get the win. He allowed nine hits, walked two and struck out four.

 

A J Whiffen started and took the loss, Justin Kelly came on in relief

Corner Brook Barons won the opening game of the provincial senior “B” baseball series with a 4-nothing win over Gander Pilots.

 

Mike Tavenor gets the win on a six hitter. He did not walk a batter and recorded ten strikeouts.

 

Dave Parsons went the distance for the Pilots and allowed four runs on six its. He walked and fanned three.

 

Mike Dyke of Gander and Jeff Gilliam of the Barons were the only players in this game with two its.

 

Game two is set for two o’clock Saturday at Jubilee Field.
