Newfoundland will be going for gold at the Under 17 Atlantic Girls soccer playdowns in Nova Scotia.
Newfoundland and Labrador defeated Halifax City Senior women’s team 2-nothing.
Holly O’Neill and Emma King-Jesso had the Newfoundland teams goals. Taylor Doyle recorded the shutout.
Newfoundland will play Nova Scotia Under 17 team for the gold medal.
The boys under 17 team also going for gold Sunday. They blanked Nova Scotia 2-0 Saturday.
Griffin Brophy and Felly Elonda tallied for the NL boys team. Jack Haywood was in goal for the shutout.
