The Newfoundland Growlers have signed Bonavista native Adam Pardy to a one-year, ECHL contract. With the signing, Pardy becomes the third Newfoundlander to join the Growlers roster.
The 6’-4”, 227-pound defensemen was drafted 173rd overall in the 2004 NHL entry draft by the Calgary Flames. Pardy went on to appear in 350 NHL games registering five goals and 50 assists for 55 points, along with a +2 rating and 276 penalty minutes. During his 10-year NHL career Pardy has suited up for 6 different clubs including Calgary, Dallas, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Nashville.
Pardy, 34, most recently skated in 11 games for Frolunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League where he totaled 1 assist and 18 penalty minutes.
