The sporting world in this province has lost yet another long time volunteer.
Bern Tobin the long time Registrar of the St. John’s Junior Hockey League passed away Monday night. Bern has been involved with Junior Hockey since 1984. He has filled many rolls with the league as President, Vice President , Secretary, Treasurer and Registrar.
Long time friend Gerry Taylor remembers Bern. “A man that was a friend to all and willing to work with everyone.”
Personally I lost one of my best friends, A man that I have worked with on many hockey issues. and went to games with and drove to HNL meeting with. A wealth of knowledge on everything in Junior Hockey. He could tell stories of past years in hockey. And could go on and on one after another.
Bern leaves behind his wife Betty, Sons Bern and Bruce and two granddaughters that he thought the world off. Along with hundreds of both past and present players of the league. And an executive and Council that will miss him dearly.
