Carl English put together a National Basketball League of Canada record setting 58-point performance against the Kitchener Waterloo Titans as the Edge sweep the weekend series, 127-117 in front of 4012 fans at Mile One.
Carl English is the second Edge player to break the 50-point plateau this season following Charles Hinkle’s 53-point performance against Windsor.
English’s 58-points breaks the previous 56-point record held by Devin Sweetney, who sank 56 points for Moncton in a March 2013 game against the Montreal Jazz. Former Titan Russell Byrd put up 13 points and 4 rebounds in the win.
The Titans were led by Anthony Myles and his 28 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Derek Hall produced his second straight double-double of 23 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
St. John’s went 41-for-87(47.1 percent) from field-goal territory, while hitting 18-for-34 (52.9 percent) of their three point shots.
The Titans went 40-for-79 (50.6 percent) from field-goal territory, while getting 52 points from the paint.
The St. John’s Edge once again take on the Halifax Hurricanes at Mile One as the six-game home stand continues, Tuesday, Tip-off is 7:00 PM.

The St. John’s Edge (19-11) started off a six-game homestand at Mile One Centre with a victory over the KW Titans (5-25) 113-107 Friday night. Anthony Stover debuted for the Edge by contributing four points, four rebounds and two assists in his first NBL Canada game in over a month.
Charles Hinkle led the Edge with 21 points.
Carl English put up 20 points, three rebounds and seven assists as he continues to pour on the offense for the Edge.
The Titans were led by Dereck Hall and his double-double of 28 points, 18 rebounds and two assists. Justin Hurtt chipped in with 20 points of his own in the loss. The Titans came out of the gate and lead by as much as 9 points in the first quarter before the Edge took control for the rest of the game.
St. John’s went 38-for-81(46.9 percent) from field-goal territory while hitting 17-for-20 (85 percent) of their free throws.
The Titans went 42-for-77 (54.5 percent) from field-goal territory while getting 60 points from the paint.
