DOYLE SCORES WINNER IN OVERTIME

A.J.Doyle was the hero for Southern Shore Breakers in St. John’s Junior Hockey League play Friday night.

Doyle scored the winning goal at 3:15 of overtime as the Breakers edged St. John’s 7-6.

 

Stephen Mallard forced the game into the extra session with his goal with 1:18 left in the third period.

 

Shane Kavanagh paced the winners with three goals and two assists. Other goal scorers for the winners were Liam Hynes, Marcus Ralph and Robert Kavanagh.

 

Grant Nolan had two goals and two assists for the Caps. Justin Hann, Murray Byrne and Mike Noseworthy had the other Caps goals.

 

In another contest first place Mount Pearl get three goals from Colin O’Neill and beat CBN Stars 6-4. Mitch McGrath, Adam Nolan and Grant Thomas had the other goals for the Blades.

 

Ryan Dawson, Scott Delaney, Daniel Hickey and Jordan Coombs replied for CBN.
