The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts will have to go through the Atlantic Provinces in order to get to the Allan Cup Tournament in April.
The defending Herder Memorial champions earned the right to go into Allan Cup playdowns as they won the Herder last year.
A team from new Brunswick has signified they want to play as well for the Allan Cup. Under current setup a region go to the Allan Cup. So Newfoundland would to have to play any teams from the Atlantic region to earn the right to go to the tournament in Manitoba.

The Cataracts will be looking for anew head coach this season. Shane Lukinchuk has stepped down saying he will be seeking other coaching opportunities. He plans to coach the Triple A Midget hockey team this season.
