St. John’s Rams are Avalon Bowl Champs
The St. John’s Rams defeated Bay Roberts Warriors 8-6 in the first ever Football NL U-18 Avalon Bowl.
Tanner Mitchell of St. John’s opened the scoring with a 1st quarter sack in the end zone for a two point safety.
Austin Janes rushed for a Touchdown to put Bay Roberts up 6-2 early in the 4th quarter.
However, with under 5 minutes to go in the game, St. John’s Rams Quarterback, Peter Clarke, scampered for the game winning touchdown to put the Rams up for good.
Player of the game for the Bay Roberts Warriors was Austin Janes.
Cameron Hynes was player of the game for the St. John’s Rams
Avalon minor football action will return to the gridiron in the Spring of 2018.
