MCKENZIE LEADS CAPS TO WIN

Dylan McKenzie tallied twice and St John’s Caps improved to 4-4 on the season as they downed Trinity Placentia Flyers 6-1 in Junior Hockey play Saturday.

Teammates Michael Williams, Kyle Rumsey, Jordan Richards and Brandon Sexton added singles.

Justin Edison had the single for the Flyers.

Cody Barron popped home the winning goal at 3:30 of overtime and Roebothan McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals edged CBR Renegades 4-3.

 

Cameron Dunn, Owen Winsor and Tom Predham had the other markers for the winners.

 

Blake Fudge, Nich David and Lucas Lush had the goals for the Renegades.

F R I D A Y 

Two St. John’s Junior Hockey League games were played Friday night.

 

C-B-N Stars scored three first period goals and added two in the second and third periods and went on to beat Northeast Eagles 6-3.

 

Ryan Williams netted two goals for the winners. Josh Rogers, Ryan Petten, Christian Dawe, Matt Barrett and Mitch Williams had singles.

 

Kyle Chapman, Max French and Ben Roberts replied for Northeast.

Southern Shore Breakers scored three third period goals and earned a come-from-behind 5-4 win over St. John’s Caps.

 

Blake Dalton and Brandon Arbour tallied twice each for the Breakers and Liam Hynes added a single.

 

Nolan Peters had a pair of goals for the Caps and Jordan Richards and Michael Williams had singles.
