Northeast Eagles scored two goal in the first and third periods and edged Trinity Placentia Flyers 4-3 Sunday.

Ben Roberts paced the winners with two goals with Kyle Champion and Max French adding the singles.

 

Andrew Kelly, Conal McNamara and William Hickey replied for the Flyers.

S A T U R D A Y 

 

Conception Bay North Junior Stars now 1-1 in the beginning of the young St. John’s Junior hockey League season Saturday night beating St. John’s Caps 5-3.

 

Ryan Petten led the winners with two goals. The single markers came from Christian Dawe, Cameron Simms and Ryan Williams.

 

Nathan Peters, Grant Nolan and Jordan Richards replied for the Caps.

 

Brian Akerman made was strong in net for the winners making 42 saves while Redmond Hunt made 28 saves in goals for the Caps.

In the second game Saturday night, C-B-R Renegades doubled the Northeast Eagles 6-3.

 

Blake Fudge had a pair of markers for the winners with the singles from Ryan Day, Mike Lawrence, Lucas Lsh and Tyler Wall.

 

Max French, Kyle Champion and Brady Holwell connected for the Eagles.

 

Josh Langmead was busy in goal for the Eagles making 47 saves over the game while Chris Kickham made 24 saves for the Renegades.

The St. John’s Junior Hockey League started its new season Friday night at the Bay Arena.

 

The Southern Shore Breakers ruined the home opener for the CBN Junior Stars beating them 5-2

 

Kairon O’Driscoll, Noel Dunn, Tyler Templeman, Liam Hynes and Blake Dalton scored for the Shore.

 

Ryan Dawson and Ryan Williams replied for the CBN Stars.

 

Connor McCarthy made 20 saves in net for the Shore and Riley Ackerman stopped 22 shots fired his way.
