PURCELL GETS TRYOUT WITH BOSTON BRUINS

St. John’s native Teddy Purcell has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Boston Bruins. This was confirmed on Thursday by team General Manager Don Sweeney

 

Purcell has played 12 years in the National Hockey League. He has played with Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Edmonton and Florida.

 

Purcell had his best season in 2011-2012 with 24 goals and 41 assists for 65 points.  He has a career 101 goals and 206 assists for 307 points.

 

Michael Ryder of Bonavista played with the Bruins at one point in his career and also won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins.
