CHALLENGE CUP WEEKEND IN ST JOHN’S

The top senior men’s teams in the province will compete this Labour Day weekend for the right to represent Newfoundland and Labrador on the national stage.

Four teams will participate in final weekend; Defending champions and first place finishers, St. Lawrence Laurentians (51pts); second place Holy Cross (44pts); third place Mount Pearl (40pts); and fourth place Feildians (33pts).

The winners will represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the Toyota National Championships in Surrey, BC October 4-9.

The tournament will open at 4:30 pm, Friday, with the St. Lawrence playing arch rivals Holy Cross.

Mount Pearl and Feildians will play their playoff game at 8:00 pm.

Saturday’s semi-final will take place at 3:00 pm, while the championship game will take place Sunday, September at 2:00 pm. All games will be played at King George V field .
