The Roebothan McKay and Marshall Gonzaga Vikings used the setting sun to their advantage to beat OMT Shamrocks 11-5 in senior baseball play Friday night.
A ball was hit to the Shamrocks third baseman Ryan Dooley. He couldn’t find the ball because of the glaring setting sun. The Vikings hit several balls that way and also managed to steal a third base which helped lead to a six run inning and a come from behind win.
Dan Connors gets the win on a five hitter and three strikeouts. Mattie Murphy started for the Shamrocks goes four and a third innings allowing Ryan Dooley came in relief.
Troy Croft of the Vikings was the top batter in this game with two hits both doubles.
