AVALON EASTThe St. John’s Caps defeated Southern Shore Breakers 5-3 in Avalon East Senior Hockey League semi-final action Monday night. The Caps take a three games to lead in that best of seven series. Mark Rideout collected two goals and an assist in the Caps win.

Mike Druken, Matthew Fewer and Colin Escott provided single markers. Jeremy Nicholas netted two Shore goals and Michael Chafe had the single.
Meanwhile Game three of the Eagles Blues series goes tonight at nine o clock at the New CBS Arena with the Eagles leading that series two games to one.
