The Portland Pirates scored twice in the first and third period and go on to a 5-1 win over the St. John’s Ice Caps at Mile One on Friday night.
Bud Holloway scored the lone goal for the Ice Caps.
Zack Fucale was in nets for the Ice Caps and faced 34 shots.
It’s the tenth loss of the season for the IceCaps and their first game at home in 2016.
The teams play again Saturday at Mile One.
