AVALON EAST SR HOCKEYBell Island Blues moved into third place in the Avalon East Senior Hockey League standings Sunday with a 5-2 win over Southern Shore Breakers. The Blues now lead the Breakers by one point in the standings with a game in hand.

Tyler Adams was the offensive leader for the Blues with three goals. Single markers were added by Brandon Burry and Chad Sullivan.

Shane Boland, Daniel Dalton and Mike Vaters scored for the Shore.

Roger Kennedy made 37 saves in goal for the Blues while Doug Pippy made 47 saves in the nets for the Shore.

Bell Island had a 3-0 lead after the first and held a 4-2 advantage going to the final frame.
