The old Mount Pearl Hockey Arena known to residents as the Tin Can will be torn down. Council made the announcement Tuesday when it presented it’s budget.
The building which is located off Smallwood Drive in the Gushue Sports Complex is seen as unusable. It had been transformed many years ago to an indoor soccer facility.
Its expected tenders for the demolition will be called in the spring.
Mount Pearl does have two ice surfaces at the Glacier.
