AVALON EAST SR HOCKEYCeeBee Stars win their first game of the season in Avalon East senior hockey as they defeated Bell Island 7-6 in overtime.

Robert Slaney, Stephen Greeley and Peter George scored two goals each for the CeeBee Stars. George’s second goal was the game winner. Tyler Gale had two goals and two assists for the Blues. Kory Waterman, Garrett Murphy, Robbie Perks and Tyler Adams had singles for the Blues.

In another game St Johns Caps beat Southern Shore Breakers 7-4 to move into second place in the league standings.

Jeremy Barron pace the winners with two goals. Matthew Fewer, Bob Squires, Justin O’Rielly, Nathan Hutchens and Robert Barrett scored the Caps goals.

Michael Chafe netted a pair for the Breakers with the remaining goals from Jeremy Nicholas and Mike Lee.
