CLARENVILLE OPEN WITH 2 WINS

The Clarenville Caribous make it two weekends wins over the Corner Brook Royals with an 8-6 decision Sunday. Ryan Derosiers and Stuart McCrae tallied two goals each for the winners. Keith Delaney, Mason Reid, Chad Earle and Andrew Sweetland with singles.

Brandon Hynes scored two of the Royals goals. Ryan Salvis, Roy Robinson, Jordan Kennedy and Ryan Penney added singles.

Corner Brook were up 2-1 after the first but Clarenville held a 5-4 lead after 40 minutes.

 

The Gander Flyers down 3-2 after the second period rally with four third period goals for a 6-4 win over the Cataracts.

Jordan Knox  and Andrew Ryan tallied twice. Steven Brazil, Josh Day and there was an empty net goal.

Mike Cole had two Cats goals with Andrew Brennan, Travis Champion and Alex Dalley with the single goals for the Cataracts.

 

S A T U R D A Y

The defending Herder Memorial Trophy champions Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts won their opening game of the Central West Senior Hockey League as they shutout the Gander Flyers 5-nothing.

Rodi Shore gets a pair of goals for the cataracts. Cam Fergus, Andrew Brennan and Luke Gallant scored the singles.

 

 

The Clarenville Caribous made Dustin Russell’s debut as coach a successful one as they downed the Corner Brook Royals 5-2 Saturday night.

The Caribou’s get five goals from five different players— Kenny Mahoney, Chad Eagle, Ryan Derosiers, Franklin MacDonald and Andrew Sweetland.

Brandon Hynes and Steve Simms scored the Royals markers.
