Game on Gear has evened their St. John’s Intermediate Softball quarter-final series with Bay Roberts Coors Light at a game apiece.
Game on Gear came away with a 5-4 extra inning victory on Friday night.
Here is how the winning run was scored.
Shane Dobbin was placed on second base to start the inning (ISF Tie-Breaker), Shane Dobbin stole third base and Ryan King hit a SAC Fly to left-field to score Dobbin with the game-winning run.
Dobbin was the winning pitcher. He went the distance allowing four runs on four hits. He hit one batter walked five and fanned just one batter.
Ward Gosse started for Bay Roberts and went seven innings allowing four runs on six hits with seven strike outs. Johnny Doyle came in relief and is tagged with the loss.
Paul King and Patrick Hefferan of the winners had two hits each
C-B-S Storm won the opening game of their series with MJR Masonry with a 5-3 victory.
Liam Myers was on the mound for the win. He gave up five hits and sent 13 batters down swinging.
David Kennedy takes the loss. He was touched for seven hits while walking four and having seven strike outs.
Mike Gregory hit a solo home run for the winners.
