Roebothan McKay and Marshall Gonzaga Vikings edged Holy Cross 2-1 in senior baseball play on Tuesday night at St. Pat’s.
Kieran Buckingham picks up the win. he went six and one third innings and allowed one run on three hits. he walked and struck out three. and Dan Connors the save. Sean Janes takes the loss. He gave up the two runs on three hits walked two and fanned six.
Holy Cross had their best chance in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded a one out. However, Dan Rice hit a ball back to Connors who throws home for out two and catcher Gary Diamond throws to first baseman Matt Parsons for the third out.
Feildians moved into a third place tie with Holy Cross thanks to a 2-1 extra innings win over Knights.
Ken Whitten’s one out single in the bottom of the ninth brought home Mike Delaney with the game winning run.
Dan Phillips in relief of starter Brad Roche gets the win in this game.
Shawn Beason of the Knights was the games top batter with a three for four performance.
