CAPS, CARIBOUS WIN IN ESCHL PLAY

S A T U R D A Y

It took overtime and Jordan Escott connected with the game winner as St. John’s Caps edged CB Blues 5-4 in East Coast Senior Hockey League play on Saturday night.

Terry Ryan led the Caps attack with three goals and the other Caps goal scorer was Jordan Freake.

Ryan Day, Lucas Lush, Kris Hodge  and Sebastian Cormier had the goals for the Blues.

At Clarenville the Caribous scored three first period goals and added two in the second to get a 5-1 win over the Conception Bay CeeBee Stars. 

Chad Earle connected for two goals for the winners. Kevin Reid, Dustin Russell and Chris Sparkes contributed singles to the cause. 

Stephen Greeley had the long CeeBee Stars goal.

The Southern Shore Breakers extended their winning streak to 11 games in East Coast Senior Hockey League play Friday with a 7-5 win over CB Blues. 

Andrew Brennan, Dan Cadigan and Brandon Pye scored twice times each and Peter Kavanagh added a single.

Ryan Power, Kyle Tibbo, Kris Hodge, Brandon Burry and Drake Dower replied for the Blues.

The St. John’s Caps pick up their seventh win of the season against three losses as they doubled Conception Bay CeeBee Stars 6-3. 

Jordan Escott and Jordan Freake scored a pair of goals each for the Caps and Riley Edwards and Mike Druken contributed singles.

Brian Greeley, Rob Taylor and Brett Shute replied for the CeeBee Stars
