CAPS FALL TO 0-3 AT SENIOR MEN’S BASEBALL PLAYDOWNS

Newfoundland were hammered by BC in their game at the nationals Friday. BC beat Newfoundland in a wild one 20-10.  Newfoundland fall to 0-3. 

Greg Barry started for the Newfoundland team and Sean Janes, Graham King and Zack Fitzpatrick also saw mound duty. 

Danny Rice, Alex Walsh, Parker Gulliver and Troy Croft had two hits each for Newfoundland. They fall to 0-3 in the tournament,

They play Chatham Ontario at 12:30 island time Saturday

Newfoundland,represented by St. John’s Caps lost both games at the Canadian Senior men’s baseball championships in Chatham New Brunswick.

In their opening game they were doubled by Nova Scotia 6-3. Scott Goosney started went five innings allowed 12 hits, walked one and fanned four. Sean Janes came in relief

In their second game Alberta trounced the Newfoundland squad 11-4. Dan Connors the first of four pitchers took the loss. He went four innings allowed four runs on four hits. Adam Peach, Graham King and Zack Fitzpatrick saw mound duty. Redmond Hunt and Troy Croft were the top batters for the NL team with two hits each.
