Newfoundland represented by Galway Hitmen claimed this provinces fourth consecutive Canadian Men’s Fast Pitch Softball Championship by defeating Nova Scotia East Hants 4-3 in the championship game.
3Cheers Pub had won the last three titles.
The Newfoundland team trailed in this game 1-nothing after four innings but rallied with a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings to claim the championship.
Sean Cleary, pitched the win in the final game. He went the distance, giving up the three runs on eight hits. He walked two and sent 16 batters down swinging.
Shane Boland belted a two run homer in this game.
