Nova Scotia Valley Maple Leafs claimed the 2016 Don Johnson Cup the Atlantic Provinces Junior B Hockey championship Sunday as they edged Roebothan McKay and Marfshall Avalon Capitals 5-4 in the championship game.
Nova Scotia had a 3-2 lead after the first period and led 4-3 heading to the third. The Capitals tied the game at four all and Alex Feltmate scored what proved to be the winning goal at 15:32 of the third period.
Ben Cleary, Brett Vokey, Adam Caines and Matthew Caines replied for the Capitals.

The 2016 Don Johnson Cup awards banquet was held Saturday in St. John’s where players were recognized for their achievements during the round robin portion of the tournament .
