West Coast senior hockey could be a reality in March. Officials on the west coast have plans in place for four teams to play in what is being called ” an amateur league”
Corner Brook, Deer Lake, Stephenville and Port aux Basques would be the centers playing. One of the people behind the move is former senior hockey executive member Art Barry.
The teams would play a 12 game schedule in its initial season.
The league is hoping to have its ducks all in a row with insurance coverage for players and then approach HNL to setup the amateur league.
There has been no senior hockey on the west coast this year after the Corner Brook Royals withdrew from the Central West Senior League.
