Haille Nickerson scored 42 points leading Memorial Sea Hawks to a 93-80 win and a sweep of their weekend series with Cape Breton.

According to the AUS stats archives, Haille Nickerson’s 42 points is a new Sea Hawks single game record. Previously that was held by Jeanine Browne who had 38 points twice in Jan 2003 and Jan 2004. 

Alana Short had 12 points for Memorial who are now 3-1 on the season.

Memorial Sea Hawks women’s basketball team improved to 2-1 on the season with an 81-78 win over Cape Breton Saturday night.

Hailie Nickerson paced Memorial with 23 points and Alana Short backed her with 22.

Memorial men’s team had to settle for a split with Cape Breton as Cape Breton won  won 83-77 Sunday.

Nathan Barker again the top scorer for Memorial with 19 points and teammate Jason Thompson added 12.

Memorial Sea Hawks men’s basketball team also improved to 2-1 on the season as they downed Cape Breton 80-74. MUN led by ten points at the half 41-31 and added 39 points in the final two quarters for the win.

Nathan Barker led the offense for the Memorial squad scoring 19 points in the contest. Cole Long backed him with 16 points .

Same teams meet again Sunday.
