NO NATIONAL SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NL THIS SUMMER

A big blow to softball fans in this province and indeed an economic hit to the City of St. John’s and C-B-N Community of Carbonear.

Two National championships were slated for the province this summer.  The Canadian National men’s and masters championships were set for St. John;s September 2nd through sixth. And the Canadian under 19 men’s playdowns were to be held in Carbonear August 11 to 16th.

Newfoundland had won the last two senior championships and the last seven of eight.
