SHAMROCKS FORCE GAME 7 IN INTERMEDIATE FINAL

Holy Cross were just three outs away from winning the 2019 Intermediate baseball championship as they had a 5-nothing lead over Shamrocks heading to the top of the seventh. However, the Shamrocks took advantage of several errors and scored 12 runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 12-5 win and to force a game seven. Yogia was right ” It ain’t over till its over”

Game seven is set for Tuesday night at St. Pat’s at 6:30.

Holy Cross are now just one win away from the St. John’s Intermediate Baseball championship.

 

The Crusaders behind the five hit pitching of Phillip Edwards defeated Shamrocks 9-1 to grab a three games to two lead in the best of seven series. Edwards walked one, hit one batter and fanned two.

 

Graham King the first of three Shamrocks pitchers was tagged with the loss. He went four and two third innings and allowed eight runs on five hits while walking and fanning two. Joel Abbott and Josh Langmead also saw mound duty. 

 

Langmead of the Shamrocks was the only batter in the game with two hits.

 

Game  six is set for Sunday at St. Pats at one o’clock. Holy Cross are looking for their first Intermediate title since 2011. They have been runners up to Shamrocks the past two seasons.
