The Newfoundland Growlers made it two wins in a row over Worcester Raiders on throwback Saturday night with a 3-2 decision over the Railers at Mile One. The Growlers were wearing the St. John’s Maple Leafs uniforms to remember when that franchise came to St. John;s back in 1991. Marcus Power’s second goal of the game at 3:19 of the third period proved to be the winner. Trey Bradley had the other Growlers goal. Growlers head out on the road again for a game Wednesday in Utah. They return home December 17th.

The Newfoundland Growlers moved into sole possession of first place in the North Division for now as they defeated Worcester Railers 7-5 Friday night at Mile One.
The Growlers did not play well in the first two periods. They were lucky it was scoreless after the first and the Railers grabbed a 3-1 lead after two. Worcester were up 5-3 with under eight minutes to play and looked to be in control. The Growlers, however seemed to come to life at that point and scored four unanswered goals in just about seven minutes of which two were short handed goals to pull out the win.
Joseph Duzak scored what proved to be the winning goal shorthanded at 14:17 of the third period and then Mac Hollwell added an empty net goal at 1940 to seal the win. Aaron Luchuk and Georgio Estephan had two goals each and Brady Ferguson a single for the Growlers.
