Growlers 5 Railers 3 in last game of their series.

CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH, Newfoundland – Growlers came out strong in the first period with a quick goal by Nathan Noel. They held the advantage for the next 2 periods to defeat the Worchester Railers 5 – 3 in the last game of a three game series on Growlers home ice at the CBS Arena.

The final goal was an empty netter by Nathan Noel.

Growlers beat the Railers in shots on goal 33 -26.

James Melindy and  Ross Olsen finally dropped the gloves after two periods of chirping and shoving. Both ejected for 5 minutes each to finish the period for them .

  • Evan Cormier made 23 saves to secure his second win of the weekend.
  • Line mates Isaac Johnson and Ryan Chyzowski are tied for the Growlers goalscoring lead with 4 goals each.
  • The three stars were 3 – M. Pietroniro (NFL), 2 – J. Smotherman (WOR), 1 – N. Noel (NFL)

The Growlers were wear the Flash uniforms as a part of ECHL partnership with DC Comic.
This wraps up the last of six game home stand for the Growlers at CBS Arena and the Town of Conception Bay South and they head back on the road next week.

With ten games done in the season the growlers top the North Division with 8 wins, 2 losses and 0 ties.
