CATARACTS WIN BOTH WEEKEND GAMES OF HERDER

S U N D A Y

The Cataracts received strong goal tending once again from A J Whiffen as they beat the Southern Shore Breakers 5-1 in game two of the Herder Memorial Trophy Final. Whiffen made 35 saves in the game.

Michael Cole, Danny Wicks, Rodi Short, Andre Gill and Kyle McGuirk scored for the Cataracts.  Kyle Tibbo had the Breakers goal.

The series will now shift back to Grand Falls Windsor and the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium next weekend for games three four and five starting Friday.

The Cats last won the Herder in 2016.

 

 

 

 

S A T U R D A Y

Down 2-nothing at one point in the opening game of the 2019 Herder Trophy final the Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts rebounded to win game one of the best of seven final series 4-2 over the Southern Shore Breakers. 

A J Whiffen was stellar in goal for the Cataracts making 41 saves to keep the Cats alive.

 

Andre Gill, Danny Wicks, Patrick Yetman and Kyle McGuirk with the winner were the Cats goal scorers.

Dan Cadigan had two goals for the Shore and Peter Kavanagh had the other.
