CATARACTS 2019 HERDER CHAMPIONS

S U N D A Y

The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts are the 2019 Herder Memorial Trophy Champions. Alex Dalley scored in overtime Sunday to give the Cats a 3-2 win over Southern Shore Breakers.

They won the best of seven series four games to one.

It’s the Grand Falls 15th Herder since competition started in 1935.

Michael Brent and Pat Yetman scored the other Cats goals. Kris Hodge and Jeremy Nicholas scored for the Breakers.

S A T U R D A Y

 

The Southern Breakers have extended the Herder Memorial Trophy finals to at least a fifth game.

 

The Breakers doubled the Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts 4-2 at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium Saturday night.

 

Blake Dalton, Jeremy Nicholas, Peter Kavanagh and Kyle Tibbo scored for the Breakers.

 

Michael Brent and Michael Cole had the Cataracts goals.

 

Game Five goes Sunday afternoon at 1:30.

 

F R I D A Y

The Cataracts are one win away from claiming the 2018-19 Herder Memorial Trophy. The Cats came away with a  2-nothing win over the Southern Shore Breakers. 

 

The first period was scoreless. The Cats grabbed the 1-nothing lead on  a goal by Alex Dalley in the second period and in the third Andrew Brennan scores to give the Cats the 2-nothing win. Veteran A J Whiffen was in goal for the shutout.  Game four will be played 7:30 Saturday night in Grand Falls Windsor at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. 

 

The Cats lead the best of seven final three games to none.
