Grand Falls Windsor native Brian Casey has a new coaching position.
Casey who guided the Cataracts for many years is now the new head coach of the Fredericton Junior Red Wings.
As an Athlete, Coach Casey played two years of Major Junior Hockey in the QMJHL then four years with the Acadia Axemen University squad.
He then went on to play one year with The Canadian Men’s National Team (where he won a Spengler Cup in Davos Switzerland with Team Canada in 1999) and ten years of pro hockey in Slovakia, Austria and Denmark. His coaching career has included time with his Home Town of Grand Falls – Windsor Cataracts (winner of Herder Cup for Men’s Senior Hockey), two years with Kings Edgehill, two years as assistant coach with STFX X-MEN and Head Coach with Hockey Newfoundland at the Gatorade Challenge Cup.
