NEW CURLING TEAM LOOKS TO 2019 BRIER

Newfoundland will have two teams at next year’s Brier and already the moves are being made for a new team to challenge for a trip to the 2019 Brier.

 

We all know that Brad Gushue will be Team Canada so Newfoundland can again have two teams at the Canadian mens championships.

 

Greg Smith and his rink of Matthew Hunt, Andrew Taylor and Ian Wityhcombe were the Newfoundland representatives as they defeated the Andrew Symonds rink in the Newfoundland final.

 

Well sportspagenl.ca has learned that Symonds will have a new team next year to compete for the provincial championship and a possible trip to the brier.

 

Symonds has will have Keith Jewer with him again and the will be joined by former CIS curling champion Adam Boland and 2017 Canadian Mixed Bronze medalist Chris Ford.

 

This team plans to play in the St. John’s Super League and on the World Curling tour next season.
