Defending champion Brad Gushue won his opening game at the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier. Gushue scored for in the second and for in the sixth to beat BC 10-2.
Greg Smith and his Newfoundland and Labrador rink lost its opening game 9-7 t0 Jamie Koe of NWT.
Sunday at 4:30 Gushue faces the Yukon and Smith curls against Nova Scotia
