MOUNT PEARL WIN 21ST GAME IN JR HOCKEY SUNDAY

S U N D A Y 

 

First place Mount Pearl Blades improved to 20-1 in the season with a 7-1 decision over Trinity Placentia Flyers Sunday. The Blades fired 41 shots on goal in this contest. Scoring for the Blades were Stephen Predham with three.   Adam Nolan, Colin O’Neill, Bobby Upshall and Daniel Toope had the other Blades goals. 

 Mitch Rogers stopped 32 of 33 shots in goal for the winners.  

 

Blake Dalton and Liam Hynes netted two goals each and Southern Shore Breakers improved to 13-8 on the season beating Northeast Eagles 9-7. 

Ryan Ricketts, Max French and Tyler Anstey had two goals each for the losers.

 

S A T U R D A Y 

 

Grant Nolan tallies twice and St. John’s Caps skate to a 7-4 win over Northeast Eagles in St. John’s Junior Hockey League action Saturday night.  It’s the 9th win of the season for the Caps.

 

Casey Hancock, Michael Williams, Kyle Lind, Justin Hann and Nathan Peters had singles.

 

Liam O’Reilly, Stephen Kennedy, Ben Roberts and Brad Holwell had singles for the Eagles.

 

CBR Renegades picked up their 17th win of the season and moved to within four points of first place Mount Pearl with a 6-3 win over Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals.

 

Six players shared in the scoring, Brad Connors, Blake Fudge, Luke Peddle, Nick Hayward, Tyler Wall and Lucas Lush.

 

Cody Barron had two goals for the Capitals and Cameron Dunn a single.  

 

F R I D A Y

There were two games played in the St. John’s Junior Hockey League Friday night.

 

Blake Dalton scored a pair of goals and Southern Shore doubled Trinity Placentia 6-3. Donovan Warren, Daniel Alward, Nathan O’Brien and Shamus Sloan added singles.

 

Lyndon Thorne, William Hickey and Conal McNamara had the goals for the losers.

 

St. John’s Caps get four goals from four different players for a 4-2 win over CBN Stars.

 

Kyle Rumsey, Jordan Richards, Grant Nolan and Dylan MacKenzie had the goals for the Caps.

 

Michael Mason and Andrew Churchill replied for the Stars
