BLADES MOVE INTO FIRST

Mount Pearl Blades won their second game of the weekend with a 5-3 win over Celtics. They now have 25 points. CBR Renegades are second with 21. Brandon Bursey, Stephen Predham, Chad Thompson, Andrew Pollard and Brad Mitchellmore scored the Blades goals. Alex Snow, Curtis Kavanagh and Stephen Brown replied for the Celtics.

S A T U R D A Y 

Mount Pearl Blades scored three third period goals for a come-from-behind  5-4 win over the Roebothan McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals at the Goulds Arena Saturday night. That win  moves the Blades into first place in the league standings one point ahead of CBR Renegades.

The Capitals had a 2-nothing advantage after the first and were up 3-2 heading to the final frame.

Five players shared in the Blades scoring, Andrew Pollard, Matt Rex, Grant Thompson, Daniel Toope and  Chad Thompson.

Andrew Paul, Adam Caines, Josh Crane and Brett Vokey scored the Capitals markers.

 

Ian Woolfrey was in goal and stopped all 35 shots fired his way as the St. John’s Caps blanked C-B-R Renegades 3-nothing at the Robert French Memorial Stadium in Kelligrews.

Grant Nolan tallied twice for the winners with a single contributed by Eddy Rumsey.
